Welcome Back!
We are so excited to welcome our students back for the 2022-23 school year. We have spent all summer preparing for the return of our students so that they will have a successful year. We are excited to welcome some new teachers this year. Mrs. Fjeld and Mr. Durrant will be joining us as 3rd-grade teachers. We have hired Mr. Peacock as our new PE teacher. We have also added a new office manager as well as new support staff. We are thrilled to have them be a part of our team. We also want everyone to know that school safety is a top priority at Beaver Dam Elementary School. We have made some changes to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Our office hours are 7:45-3:30. Students should begin arriving at 7:50. and The front doors of the school will be open in the morning as we welcome our students to school each day. After the bell rings, all doors will be locked at the school. If a parent or visitor comes to the school, they will need to ring the doorbell or call the school office at 928-418-2001 for admittance to the school. Once the visitor is admitted to the school, the visitor will need to log in to our visitor management system. Visitors will need to have their ID scanned. After their ID is scanned and approved, the visitor will receive a visitor’s pass. When a visitor is leaving the school, they will need to check out through the same visitor management system.
We are also in the process of installing a new video surveillance system at both the elementary and Jr/Sr High schools. This includes cameras on the exterior of the buildings.
We have also met with local law enforcement to make sure that we are taking every step necessary to keep everyone safe and that our students have a positive learning environment. Our local Sheriff’s department will also be visiting the schools at various times weekly.
Safe schools are a vital part of a child’s education. If you see something that is a concern, please let us know. We will address it in a timely manner.
This is going to be a fantastic year. Please make sure to visit your student’s classrooms often. Stay in touch with your student’s teacher and take part in the events that happen here at your elementary school. Go Eagles!
