Welcome to the new school year at Beaver Dam Middle School!

All of the teachers and staff at BDMS are looking forward to another outstanding year. Last year ended on a high note with everyone feeling that they had done well on the AIMS tests, we anticipate that excitement will continue into the new school year.

Our students had outstanding performance on the AIMS tests last spring earning a “performance plus” rating at all levels. The number of Middle School students scoring proficient increased over the past year in all areas, but particularly in writing, where over 80% scored proficient.

I want to thank all of the community members who came to help plant trees around our campus last week. They look great and will be a real asset to the campus. The efforts of the community and the students have greatly enhanced our facility the last two years.

The new mobile computer lab is completed and will be available to all middle school teachers for research and assignments. We anticipate that this lab will be used extensively over the course of the year.

As in past years, we have a few new teachers coming to our staff. New this year are: Mr. Brandon Murphy, Language Arts and Theatre, Mr. Siota Faumui, Special Education, Mrs. Lin Richardson, Science, Mrs. Delna Gates, Reading, and Mr. Brian Mickelson, Computers and Technology.

While we have a new look to the campus, some new teachers entering our system and new equipment to aid in learning, the most important part of being a successful school is our students and their parents. We believe that our students can accomplish anything they want if they are willing to try and that their parents are the key in keeping them focused on their goals. We encourage parents to come and get involved with your children in their education.
